To be eligible for the Hinrich Foundation Scholarship, 

  • Applicants must be citizens of Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, or Vietnam.
  • A candidate should first get admission to Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).
  • A candidate should have at least five-seven years of work experience as a journalist or in another related profession.
  • A candidate should submit a 500-word self-statement in English regarding their career objectives, academic interests, or a sample of a piece of journalism, research paper, or similar work written by the applicant in English.
  • A candidate must show genuine interest in learning about international trade and making journalism their profession.
  • A candidate should have a minimum TOEFL score of 79 on an internet-based test or an IELTS band score of 6.5.
  • Must showcase strong communication & teamwork skills as well as leadership ability.
