Training Employment Pass - Foreign professionals undergoing practical training and must earn a minimum of S$3,000/ month.

Work Holiday Pass (under Work Holiday Program) - Students in the age group of age 18 to 25 who’d like to work and holiday in Singapore for no longer than 6 months.

Work Holiday Pass (under Work and Holiday Visa Program) -  This visa is for Australian students in the age group of 25 – 30 who’d like to work and holiday in Singapore for no longer than a period of 6 months.

Student Visa in Singapore - Eligibility Criteria

You must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Singapore Study Visa:

  • Minimum language proficiency in English is a must to get into Singapore.
  • International students and Universities must submit the documents only through the SOLAR pathway to the immigration authorities.
  • Students are eligible for a Student Pass only if they have already been accepted for a full-time course/program into an approved ILH in Singapore.

Important Note: 

  • A valid Student Pass is essential. International students are not allowed to begin a course with a Visit Visa.
  • Part-time, evening and weekend courses/programs do not qualify for the student visa in Singapore
  • Students are exempt from Student Pass if their study course/program is shorter than 30 days.

Student Visa in Singapore - Documents Requirement

Here is a list of documents you need to submit while applying for a student visa in Singapore:

  • Proof of sufficient funds 
  • Letter of admission from the university 
  • Passport and at least 2 recent passport-size photographs
  • Birth certificate 
  • SOP, resume as well as 3 Letters of Recommendation (LORs)
  • Visa fee receipt and 3 completed application forms
  • Degree certificates, academic transcripts, and scores of international exams such as GRE, IELTS/TOEFL, etc. 
  • Travel and Health Insurance
  • Vaccination Certificates

Important Note:  The university you have chosen will also notify you of additional requirements prior to processing your Singapore Study Visa application.

Student Visa for Singapore -  Application Process

Step I: To be eligible for a Student Pass in Singapore, you must enrol in an IHL approved by Singaporean authorities.

Step II: All international students must apply for their Student Pass in Singapore through the Student’s Pass Online Application System (SOLAR) online service on the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website. 

Step III: Once registered, the chosen IHL will send over a personalized application number that you can use to access SOLAR.

Step IV: Upon receiving your application reference number, log in to SOLAR and complete the application. Here, you need to fill out what’s known as the eForm16.

Tips when filling out eForm 16 for Singapore student visa

When submitting the e-Form 16, make sure to include the following information:

  • Registration acknowledgment notice and login details received from your IHL.
  • Details of your passport number and expiry date.
  • Address and contact details in Singapore. If you do not have a valid address, you can provide the registered address of your IHL.
  • Your email address.
  • Your recent passport-size photograph.

Step V: Pay the standardized Singapore Study Visa fee before submitting your application.

Step VI: Await a decision on your application. 

Important Note: Once you have submitted the student pass application, it will only take a minimum of 15 days and a maximum of four weeks to process the visa.
